New Exporter Coaching Program: Encouraging World-Quality Papuan MSME Products

Jayapura – In conjunction with the Republic of Indonesia Oeang Day (HORI-78), the Papua Representative Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance held a Coaching Program New Exporter (CPNE) for Papuan MSMEs in 2024. A total of 50 MSMEs in Papua Province attended the training held at the State Finance Building in Jayapura.

The event was opened by Kristijanindyati Puspitasari as the Head of the Secretariat of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Finance Papua. Puspitasari stated that Papua Province has enormous natural resource potential, which can be processed into quality micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) products. “Abundant forest and marine products can be processed into MSME products such as Asmat carving crafts, noken bags, ant nests, fish, shrimp, lobsters and pearls. In the plantation sector, there are also commodities with export potential such as cocoa beans, Papuan sago, coffee, vanilla, wood and palm oil,” Puspitasari concluded.

As one of the Special Mission Vehicles (SMV) of the Ministry of Finance, LPEI is a special financial institution established by the Government, one of whose activities is to provide training and assistance to exporters / export-oriented business actors to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian products and services in the global market.

The training material was delivered by Dita Yuningtrias from the Indonesian Export Financing Agency with the topic “About Export Business”. According to Dita, a company profile that is neatly arranged, structured, and professional will provide customer interest in the MSME product.

The next event in the training activities took the theme “export product design and export marketing strategies”. Dita explained that product design, business legality in export quality must be considered by MSMEs as the main basis for business expansion.

The purpose of the implementation of the Coaching Program New Exporter (CPNE) is in addition to bringing quality local products to be more global, it is also expected to be able and able to improve the economic, social and environmental level of Papua Province as well as the realization of the synergy of the Ministry of Finance One (DJKN, DJBC, DJP, DJPb) with LPEI as a form of support from the Ministry of Finance for the development of MSMEs. The purpose of this program is not only to bring quality local products to be more global, but also to improve the economic, social and environmental level of Papua Province.
