PAPUA – The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency (Kemenekraf / Bekraf) is fully committed to strengthening the development of the creative economy (ekraf) in Merauke, South Papua, and its surroundings.
Minister of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya in his statement, Friday (13/12/2024), said that in an effort to strengthen the potential of ekraf in Merauke, his party held an ekraf incubation program for the culinary, music and performing arts subsectors. The incubation series is planned to be held on Saturday (14/14/2024) during his working visit to Merauke.
“This Creative Economy Incubation aims to create a conducive ecosystem for creative economy actors. So that the actors can develop innovative ideas, improve business skills and abilities and build a wider network,” said Riefky.
Riefky revealed that the three subsectors developed during his visit have the potential to make ecraf a new engine of growth for the economy of the people of Merauke. On the culinary side, Merauke is one of the Food Estate locations that plays an important role in meeting food and agricultural needs in the South Papua region and beyond.
“By utilizing technology and innovation in supporting the development of the creative economy and through collaboration between the agricultural sector and the creative economy sector, it is expected to create products that have added value and are competitive in local, national and international markets,” he said.
Meanwhile, the incubation of the performing arts and music subsector was accelerated through an activity entitled “Ermukim Party”. This event consists of Dance and Rap competitions featuring talents from talented young people in South Papua.
“Through this activity, it is hoped that more young people in Merauke City can unite and support each other to develop their talents in every element they are good at,” said Riefky.
