Freeport Continues to Cooperate and Support the Development of Mimika Regency

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) will continue to work together with the Mimika Regency government and contribute to supporting development through various social investment programs. This was conveyed by PTFI Director & EVP Sustainable Development Claus Wamafma shortly after attending the inauguration of Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob and Mimika Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong at the Central Papua Province Governor’s Office, Nabire.

“PTFI will continue to cooperate and support the government, supporting development through various corporate social responsibility programs that focus on community development in the fields of education, health, economy and infrastructure,” said Claus.
He said that this inauguration was certainly welcomed by the community and all government stakeholders, including PTFI. “PTFI is here, will continue to maintain communication, friendship and also cooperation that has been well established so far with the Mimika Regency Government, Puncak Regency Government, Central Papua Provincial Government,” said Claus.

Meanwhile, Central Papua Governor Meki Nawipa gave a special message to Mimika Regent Johaness Rettob and Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong to embrace all groups. “Build good communication, embrace all political opponents, maintain our territory, we have mountains, through Special Autonomy the state has given us the privilege to develop our land well. Let’s make history in this period, the Central Papua region must rise and ‘fly’,” said Meki Nawipa in his speech.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by regional officials, community leaders, and representatives from various government and security organizations. “On behalf of the Management and the extended family of Freeport Indonesia employees, we would like to congratulate Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob and Deputy Regent Emanuel Kemong on their duties,” Claus concluded.
