Merauke – Supporting the program of the local government of Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, Satgas Pamtas Yonif 726 / Tml participated in the traditional ceremony of laying the first stone of house construction for the community in Kampung Kondo, Naukenjerai District, Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, Sunday (22/09/2024).
The traditional ceremony of laying the first stone for the construction of this house is a tradition that has been carried out for generations by the Marind tribe as a ritual to request that the implementation of development can run smoothly.
Also present at the activity were Bomak Mahuze (Deputy Chairman of the Marind tribe), Sopia Rahabaw (Pastor of Kp. Kondo), Jefri (Contractor) and 5 personnel from Kondo Post led by Serda Aldy Gauraf.
This year, the Merauke Regency Public Housing, Settlement and Land Office provided 7 units of type 36 M2 livable housing assistance for indigenous Papuans (OAP) sourced from the 2024 Special Autonomy (Otsus) fund.
One of the owners of the house to be built, Mr. Bomak Mahuze, admitted that he was grateful to have received a donation in the form of house repairs from the local government through the Special Autonomy fund. “My family and I would like to say thank you very much, hopefully the construction will run smoothly and we can live in it again soon,” he said.
As a Security Task Force in the RI-PNG border region, Yonif 726 / Tml will participate in helping the smooth running and achievement of government programs for the welfare of the people, especially in the border area which is the coaching sector of the Yonif 726 / Tml Pamtas Task Force.
