PAPUA – Soldiers from the Task Force (Satgas) of the 6th Marine Infantry Battalion (Yonif) held social communication with the community in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, Sunday (5/1).
Commander of the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force Lieutenant Colonel (Mar) Rismanto Manurung revealed that the social communication aims to strengthen the relationship and maintain good relations with the community in the assignment area.
“Social communication is one of the efforts of the Marine Battalion 6 Task Force to be able to listen directly to the complaints of residents living in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains,” said Rismanto, quoted from Pasmar 1’s statement, Monday (6/1).
According to him, social communication can maintain harmony and harmony with others in order to get to know more friends and other relatives in the Yahukimo community.
“So that between the TNI and the community and other components can work together to maintain the integrity of the region,” he continued.
He also said, the presence of the Yonif 6 Marine Task Force in the Yahukimo region, not only to carry out the main task of maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, but the presence as TNI soldiers must establish good relations with the community through social communication activities.
“With social communication, we will know what the obstacles are for the community so far and what we might do for the residents in the future,” he concluded.
The soldiers of the Marine Battalion 6 Task Force began serving in Papua since being dispatched by the Marine Corps Commander (Dankormar) Major General (Mar) Endi Supardi from Jakarta, in mid-May 2024. They serve as security and border guards for Indonesia-Papua New Guinea.
Prior to departure to the assignment area, the task force soldiers first underwent pre-duty training at Mount Halimun Salak, West Java, some time ago. The exercise aims to prepare and maintain physical and shooting abilities to become individual provisions.
In addition, in the pre-duty training, the task force soldiers also learned to master the battlefield in the assignment area by being able to read and analyze contours and approach roads to determine how actions should be taken when in a vulnerable area.
