SORONG – As a form of concern in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the community environment, Marine soldiers from the 3rd Marine Cavalry Regiment conducted Social Service activities to clean the environment in the Sorong City area, Southwest Papua.

The activity led by Marine Colonel Karlos Rehabiam Deda involved 50 Marine Fighting soldiers with a focus on cleaning the drainage around Jl. Basuki Rahmat, Km.8 to Km.9, Sorong City.

Colonel Karlos revealed that the main purpose of this activity is to maintain environmental cleanliness and prevent flood disasters and the spread of diseases due to waterways clogged with garbage.

Danmenkav 3 Mar urged residents to be more concerned about cleanliness, especially in maintaining waterways. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between residents and soldiers to create a clean and healthy environment.

“With the hope that when the rainy season comes, we can avoid floods and also sources of disease. For this reason, this garbage problem is our common task so that the environment is clean and healthy,” he said.

Meanwhile in a separate place, Pasmar 3 Commander Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Sugianto emphasized that the presence of the TNI, especially the Marines, is not only to maintain security, but also to play an active role in social activities and community development, strengthening the relationship between the TNI and the community for the progress of Indonesia.
