Evan Soumilena was a key player in Black Steel’s victory over Hongyen Thakam on penalties 4-3 (1-1) in the 2023 AFF Futsal Club Championship final. Thanks to him, Black Steel came out as champions.

Evan also often scores spectacular goals with hard kicks which earned him the nickname “Evanmovic”. The nickname was inspired by the last name of world footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
