PAPUA – President Prabowo Subianto has instructed a humanist approach in Papua. This is the basis for the TNI to carry out non-military activities in Bumi Cendrawasih, one of which is social communication or komsos.
“This is the TNI’s effort to provide basic needs services to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region,” said HABEMA Commander, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, in a statement reported Friday, January 3, 2025.
Socialization carried out by the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 509 / Balawara Yudha Kostrad is one of the Units of the HABEMA TNI Operations Command. Namely, by providing social assistance in the midst of the task of securing the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border.
Commander of the Yonif 509 Kostrad Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Dian Dessiawan Setyadi said this was a form of social care for the community. TNI soldiers, he said, tried to take advantage of the assignment while helping the community.
“When the interaction took place, the Soldiers shared their love by handing over food packages to Mama Maria,” said Lieutenant Colonel Dian.
The Komsos activity was carried out on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Assistance was given to residents of Mamba Village. Responding to the assistance, Mama Maria immediately smiled and received the basic food packages with joy.
