Merauke – The Governor-elect of South Papua Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. Apolo Safanpo, ST, MT, attended the 16th Anniversary celebration of the Turatea Family Association Pillar in Merauke Regency, which was held in the midst of an atmosphere of inter-tribal togetherness under the auspices of the South Sulawesi Family Harmony (KKSS), at Lampu Satu Beach in Merauke, Saturday (21/12).
In the event, which was attended by hundreds of Turatea families, Safanpo gave an important message about the importance of maintaining harmony, diversity and diversity.
The Turatea Family Association Pillar is an organization that includes various tribes from South Sulawesi, such as those from Gowa, Takalar, Jeneponto, Bantaeng, Bulukumba, and Selayar Islands.
During his speech, Safanpo emphasized the importance of maintaining harmony between people, especially in a pluralistic society.
“Diversity, pluralism, and differences among people are gifts from God Almighty. We must protect and nurture it with respect and mutual appreciation,” Safanpo said.
In addition, Safanpo said, it is important to maintain a well-maintained social immunity system. According to him, maintaining harmonious relationships between citizens, both fellow communities is very important to create a life of peace and tolerance.
The Head of the Turatea Family Association Pillar of Merauke Regency, Hasmin Daeng Rumpa, who was also present at the celebration, reminded that the 16th Anniversary of the Turatea Family Association Pillar actually falls on June 12 every year. However, this year, the celebration was held in December.
In his speech, Hasmin invited all Turatea families to continue to maintain unity and integrity, especially in Merauke Regency which is known for its tribal diversity. He also reminded the importance of respecting the local people who have given space for the Turatea family to do activities in this area.
“We must maintain harmony and unity, especially towards our brothers and sisters here. We must continue to respect them, because they have provided space for us to make a living,” Hasmin said.
Not only that, Hasmin also reminded Turatea residents who live on the coast of Lampu Satu Merauke to participate in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the beach as part of social responsibility for the environment.
This lively event had previously been filled with various social activities, such as family deliberations, as well as entertainment, and togetherness events at the peak event. The presence of Governor-elect Apolo Safanpo further added to the spirit of the Turatea family to continue to maintain the harmony and diversity that has long been established in the land of Anim-Ha.
With the messages conveyed, it is hoped that the Turatea community in Merauke Regency and throughout South Papua Province can continue to unite, maintain justice, and prioritize tolerance among others for mutual progress.
