Merauke – Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Menekraf/Kabekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya encourages the improvement of product quality and competence of human resources (HR) of culinary, craft and fashion actors in Merauke, South Papua.
Menekraf Teuku Riefky in the Creative Economy Incubation event in the Food Estate Area at Megaria Hotel, Merauke, Saturday (14/12/2024) said, this activity is a quick win program from Kemenekraf / Bekraf to explore and strengthen the potential of the culinary, craft and fashion subsectors in Merauke and its surroundings. Moreover, Merauke is one of the “food estate” areas that have been designated by the Indonesian government.
“This creative economy will become a new engine of (economic) growth not only nationally but also in their respective regions,” said Riefky. Therefore, this incubation is one of the important programs to create a strong ecosystem of culinary, craft and fashion subsectors and support the development of culinary, craft and fashion actors in Merauke.
“This creative economy incubation aims to create a conducive ecosystem for creative economy players. So that they can develop innovative ideas, improve skills, and build a wider network,” he said.
Not only that, Riefky believes that the incubation held on December 12-14, 2024 is expected to provide new knowledge for culinary, craft and fashion players in Merauke related to the utilization of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and product marketing. “This is a great opportunity for creative economy players to explore the widest possible knowledge from experts regarding financial management, marketing, branding, and opportunities to consult regarding intellectual property rights,” said Riefky.
According to Riefky, the presence of a strong culinary, craft and fashion subsector ecosystem in Merauke will be able to improve the economic level of the Merauke people in the future. “Hopefully with this activity we can all realize the creative economy as an engine of economic growth in South Papua and ultimately support it as a new growth engine for the national economy,” said Riefky.
