PAPUA – Wamena: The management of the Indonesian Student Sports Advisory Board (BAPOMI) of the Papua Mountains Province was officially inaugurated. The inauguration took place at the Grand sartika Hotel Hall, Thursday (5/11/2024).
The inauguration of the BAPOMI Papua Mountains Management is based on the BAPOMI Central Board Decree No. 14 / PP-BAPOMI / SK / IVX / 2024 concerning the determination of the BAPOMI Papua Mountains management for the period 2024-2029. The management of BAPOMI Papua Mountains was inaugurated directly by the Chairperson of the Central BAPOMI, Maria Veronica Irene virtually.
“I believe this high spirit reflects the enormous effort and support from the Government and all parties in the Papua Mountains. Even though it is only virtual, I hope that the newly appointed management can carry out their duties well,” said the Chairman of BAPOMI Center, Maria Veronica Irene.
She also hopes that BAPOMI Papua Mountains can encourage and open space for existing students to achieve achievements at the national level. In addition, it can explore the sports potential of students in each district in the Papua Mountains Province.
“I heard that there are several sports that also have achievements at the national and international levels whose origins are from the Papua Mountains, such as the Silat Branch, and this needs to be developed by opening space for other sports,” he concluded.
