PAPUA – The Biak Tribal Chief appreciates the Police who have carried out their duties well during the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in Southwest Papua.
“With the burden of tasks that are not light in the midst of the dynamics of Pilkada implementation, but they still carry it out well, everything is running smoothly,” said Biak Tribal Chief, Hengki Korwa in Sorong, quoted Tuesday (17/12/2024).
Hengki also reminded that although the voting has been completed, the stages are still ongoing to determine the regional leaders who have been elected by the people. Although there are candidates who filed a lawsuit, the situation in Southwest Papua remains conducive.
He reminded the candidates not to involve the masses of their supporters to carry out disgraceful actions. “Winning and losing is a common thing in a battle, including in regional elections,” said Hengki.
Hengki claimed to have given an appeal to the community to jointly maintain security until the announcement and determination of elected candidates by the KPU.
“Whatever the result, the community must accept as good citizens not to do things that can disrupt Kamtibmas,” he said.
