PAPUA – Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong hopes that the cheap market activities promoted by the local government will have a positive impact and be directly felt by the community.

This is considered important to do in order to maintain the national inflation target of 2.5 plus minus one percent, so that it has a positive impact on the welfare of the community.

“Certainly I hope activities like this can be maximized and the impact is felt directly by the community,” he said on the sidelines of the cheap market, in Jayapura.

Limbong also hopes that through the cheap market activities of the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD), it can help control inflation, especially ahead of Christmas and New Year 2025.

“I hope this cheap market activity can also be carried out by other banks in Papua Province, so that it helps ease the burden on the community,” he pleaded.

Finance Director of Bank Papua, Sadar Sebayang stated that this cheap market is a routine agenda at every moment of religious holidays.

“Our cheap market is carried out for three days until December 6, besides here the plan will also be held in the district / city,” he said.

Sadar added, this activity is also one of Bank Papua’s efforts in socializing non-cash payments and several other products.

“So that later through this cheap market activity it can be directly utilized by people who will celebrate Christmas,” he said.
