He revealed that the transmigration program in Papua is now focused on empowering local communities who are interested in participating. This is part of an effort to accelerate equitable development and improve the welfare of the people in Papua.

According to him, by involving local people, the transmigration program not only provides benefits for newcomers, but can also improve the quality of life of local people through various training and skills enhancement.

In addition, Minister Iftitah added that in the future, the government is developing the concept of maritime transmigration as a new innovation.

This concept, she said, aims to support food self-sufficiency and economic growth, especially in coastal and island areas, which have so far received less attention in transmigration programs.
