PAPUA – Chairman of the Papua Chamber of Entrepreneurs (KAPP), Godlif Wolter Baransano, called for the importance of government support for local Papuan entrepreneurs.
This support is especially in accelerating development in Papua. This was conveyed by Baransano during the KAPP Special Pre-Conference in Biak, January 10-13, 2025. Baransano emphasized that indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs must become the main pillar of economic development with full synergy with the government and other stakeholders.
“We hope the government can synergize more closely with local Papuan entrepreneurs.”
“We want to ensure that indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs are truly empowered as “masters in their own country.”
“In addition, we want policies that prioritize siding with local entrepreneurs so that they can contribute to regional economic growth,” said Godlief, Chairman of KAPP in his press conference.
In the activity attended by representatives of KAP throughout Papua, the Chairman of KAP Papua, Godlif Wolter Baransano, expressed his hope for strengthening the role of local Papuan entrepreneurs. He highlighted the importance of government policies that favor indigenous Papuan entrepreneurs to accelerate the implementation of Special Autonomy (Otsus).
The Pre-Conference is an event to prepare for the KAP Papua Main Conference which will be held in March. It is hoped that the conference can produce strategic recommendations to accelerate development and improve the welfare of the Papuan people.
“Our main focus is to design references and recommendations to accelerate development throughout the Land of Papua. We want to ensure that local Papuan entrepreneurs receive full support from the government in the implementation of Otsus, especially in the construction, industry and services sectors. In addition, we also open opportunities to partner with stakeholders who support our vision,” he said.
