KAMPUNG BRING, JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong wants Bring Village, Kemrik Gresi District, Jayapura Regency, to be an example of independence that can be emulated by other regions in Bumi Cenderawasih, in terms of broad economic improvement.
Ramses Limbong appreciates the local community, village head, government officials, traditional and religious leaders who have worked together to realize Kampung Mandiri Bring as a Pilot Project for Economically Independent Villages in Papua Province, “We appreciate all parties who have played an active role in the preparation and implementation of this program as part of a strategic step to build village independence and hope for the future, we hope that this village will become an independent village model that can be emulated by other regions in Papua,” said Ramses Limbong during his Working Visit in Jayapura Regency, Friday (13/9/2024).
According to Ramses Limbong, the Papua Provincial Government is currently working to strengthen the local economy through potential-based empowerment, including through the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and then strengthening the creative economy which is encouraged as a way to increase community income and create jobs in the village.
As for local food security, the Papua Provincial Government continues to ensure community food security and foster an independent village economy and efforts include through diversification of local food, including processing and distribution of agricultural products with the involvement of villagers from the development stage to its implementation, “The Papua Provincial Government here provides technical assistance, mentoring programs, and policy support in accordance with the needs of the village community, the local government will also ensure access to capital, technology, and training to empower village communities, so that Bring Village is expected to be a real example of the success of independent and sustainable village development. Because village independence is not only about the economy, but also about empowering its people in creating a better future,” said Ramses Limbong.
On the same occasion, the Acting Governor also asked Bank Indonesia, Bank Papua and Bank BNI who participated in the visit to make an active contribution to help the things needed and the development of Bring Village, especially the development of the people’s economy.
It is known that Acting Governor Ramses Limbong was accompanied by his wife and the Head of the Regional Apparatus Organization of the Papua Provincial Government. Governor Limbong had previously visited Supiori and Biak Numfor Regencies.
