WAMENA, PAPUA Mountains – In order to support the development of local micro, small and medium enterprises and the economic development of the community. The Provincial Government of Papua Mountains cooperated with PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Papua, which took place at the Governor of Papua Mountains Office, Thursday (5/9/2024) afternoon.
The Acting Governor of Papua Mountains Velix Wanggai said, as a new province, of course the Provincial Government continues to consolidate development planning and support the economic development of the region, especially specifically supporting the economy of the people in the Papua Mountains, “One of the things we want to do through this collaboration with Bank Papua is to encourage business movements at the grassroots level that have potential, both in the fields of socio-culture, creative economy, agriculture and so on,” said Acting Governor of Papua Mountains Velix Wanggai.
The Acting Governor explained that Bank Papua is a very good partner of the Government so, of course, what is the vision and mission of the Government of Papua Mountains will be fully supported by Bank Papua through the signing of a memorandum of understanding, “We are sure, the various financing schemes available at Bank Papua will be very in line with our vision and mission, One of them is to raise the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector, therefore we, the Provincial Government of Papua Mountains and Bank Papua, signed a memorandum of understanding on accelerating the development of regional financial access, which we call papeda credit, so that later we will jointly encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Papua Mountains,” said Velix Wanggai.
Velix Wanggai hopes that in addition to support from the financing side, Bank Papua can provide assistance to local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in carrying out their business development, “Of course we hope that there will continue to be assistance from Bank Papua and its network, be it coaching groups of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, strengthening their capacity but also to provide access to marketing,” said Velix.
On the same occasion, Bank Papua Business Director Sadar Sebayang said that the support that his party will provide is the provision of credit programs for people who want to start business activities, “On the day we together with the Government of Papua Mountains have agreed to improve the community’s economy, by providing working capital so that their business can run and can develop well,” said the Business Director of Bank Papua.
Sadar Sebayang said that hopefully this program can provide good benefits to the community for the revival of the economy in the Papua Mountains.
