Concern for public transportation is one of the reasons for the Regional Government of Southwest Papua Province to build a Type B Terminal in Sorong City. It should be noted that the construction of the terminal was actually carried out before the expansion of the province where Sorong City was still included in the administrative area of ​​West Papua Province. After the expansion was ratified which made Southwest Papua a new province, the construction of the terminal was transferred to its responsibility.
Terminal Type B is a terminal that serves as a transit for public transportation used by the community for inter-city areas within the province, city transportation, and also rural transportation. Sorong City as one of the largest cities in Southwest Papua Province certainly realizes the importance of terminal construction.
