Sorong, Southwest Papua – Political Education Socialization for political parties and the community conducted by the City Government (Pemkot) of Sorong, Southwest Papua Province to support the creation of a safe and conducive situation and the success of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Sorong City Yakob Kareth in Sorong, explained this as one of the local government’s efforts to prepare a good and correct understanding and view of the community and political parties towards politics in realizing a quality democratic party that will be held on November 27, 2024.
“I give appreciation to the National Unity and Political Agency (Kesbangpol) which has carried out this political education activity, so that later it can realize quality, safe and smooth elections,” he said when opening political education activities for the community and political parties in Sorong City.
According to him, a good and correct political understanding is certainly expected to realize the success of the 2024 elections in Sorong City. He continued, of course everyone is asked to take an active role in the success of the elections later, by having a qualified, good and correct political capacity.
Because, he said, this task does not have to be carried out by the organizers, but all elements of society including every political party to provide good political education to the community, so that the rights as voters can later be realized properly as stipulated in the applicable regulations.
According to him, this is not an easy job, but a very big job in order to determine the future of Sorong City for the better.
Therefore, he called on every community and political party to jointly maintain a conducive political climate and conditions, so that a healthy, democratic and quality competition will be created.
“Now that we have a few months left to enter the voting process, we need to make the best use of it to continue to increase political capacity, correct deficiencies and continue to provide political education to the community,” he said.
The socialization of political education to the community was opened directly by the Secretary of Sorong City, Yakob Kareth, which will last for the next two days.
