Record Participants Set at Doamu Special 9 Ball Billiard Tournament

The interest of the people of West Papua in billiards turned out to be very large. The proof is that a record was set in the Doamu Special 9 Ball Billiards Tournament in Manokwari.

“There are 250 participants. Consisting of, among others, 185 from clubs and non-clubs in Manokwari Regency, 10 participants from Bintuni Bay, 5 from South Manokwari, 3 from Wondama Bay, and 2 from the Arfak Mountains. This is a record number of participants in a billiards tournament in West Papua,” said the Chairman of the Committee, drh Eko Anggie Solissa Waroy, at the opening of the tournament in Manokwari, October 23, 2024.

Doamu stands for Dominggus Mandacan and Mohamad Lakotani, who are the single candidate pair for Governor and Deputy Governor of West Papua number 1 in the 2024 West Papua Regional Election. The number of participants made the committee use 3 match venues for 4 days.

Dominggus Mandacan who was present at this activity welcomed the tournament, because sports are activities that have a positive impact.

“Exercise is important. Mens sana in corpore sano (a healthy soul in a healthy body). Uphold sportsmanship,” said Dominggus Mandacan, who is also the Chief of the Great Arfak Tribe.

Regarding the 2024 simultaneous elections, Dominggus Mandacan reminded those who have the right to vote to channel their votes on the day of the elections on November 27, 2024, to elect the governor and deputy governor of West Papua as well as regents and deputy regents of seven districts in West Papua.
