Evan Soumilena is a professional futsal player who has a series of brilliant achievements in Indonesia. During his career, Evan only played for one team, namely Black Steel FC. Evan brought the team to win the Indonesian Professional Futsal League title in 2020 and most recently became the champion in South East Asia in the 2023 AFF Cup. Evan’s special talent was successfully honed through training and tournaments. When he brought Black Steel FC to become the champion in 2020, Evan was named the best player and specially recorded an undefeated record with his team. In addition, in 2023, Evan became the top scorer in one competition season and brought Black Steel FC to become the champion for the first time at the international level.

Evan Soumilena’s special talent has succeeded in attracting the attention of several professional futsal teams, both those playing in Indonesia and abroad. However, Evan is determined to only defend Black Steel FC if he has to have a career in Indonesia. So if Evan is going to move teams, he wants to get the opportunity to be contracted as a professional player abroad. This desire caught the attention of one of the professional futsal players from Portugal who also plays in the Indonesian Professional Futsal League, namely Ricardinho. The living legend from Portugal felt that Evan had reached international level and should try playing abroad. An offer came from Portugal and Ricardinho told Evan directly to accept the contract offer and try to compete in a competition that has a higher level than in Indonesia.

Evan Soumilena finally got a contract offer from one of the professional futsal teams playing in the highest caste of the Portuguese Professional Futsal League, namely ADCR Caxinas. The contract offered to the player whose full name is Holypaul Evan Septinus Soumilena has a period of one competition season with the note that if the performance shown can boost the team’s achievements, then the contract will be extended.

The opportunity to be able to play abroad is a dream for professional futsal players in Indonesia. Evan hopes that the steps he takes can be an inspiration for other players, especially native Papuan players who are studying at the Black Steel FC academy. In addition, Evan’s hope is to be able to adapt quickly and become a core player in ADCR Caxinas and help the team compete for the championship title. Evan Soumilena has also made various preparations, starting from adequate physical preparation because he will compete at a higher level and especially mental preparation for the first time playing for a team other than Black Steel FC, a team he has defended since he was young.
