PAPUA – For Papuan football, Eduard Ivakdalam is a legend, the man born in Merauke was recorded to have defended three teams from Bumi Cendrawasih, namely Persipura Jayapura, Persidafon Dafonsoro, and Persiwa Wamena.

Persipura is the longest club defended by Edu’s brother Eduard Ivakdalam while actively playing soccer, at the club nicknamed Mutiara Hitam, Eduard spent 16 years with a total of 218 appearances.

During his career on the green field Eduard Ivakdalam was known as an elegant midfielder who became the motor of his team’s attack, for more than a decade in Persipura uniform, Eduard was able to bring Mutiara Hitam to win the Indonesian League twice, namely in the 2005 and 2008-2009 seasons and in addition to two league titles, Eduard also helped Persipura win the Community Shield trophy in 2009.

At international level, Eduard Ivakdalam played for the Indonesian national team from 1996 to 2004, scoring three goals in 11 caps, and was part of the Indonesian national team that won a silver medal at the 1997 SEA Games.

Eduard Ivakdalam hung up his shoes in 2014 with the last club he defended was Persiwa Wamena, after hanging up his shoes Eduard took the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) License C coaching course in 2016 and after completing the coaching course Eduard Ivakdalam was immediately appointed Head Coach of Persewar Waropen who was playing in League 3 Indonesia during 2016-2017, After one season coaching at Persewar Waropen in 2017 Eduard Ivakdalam was immediately trusted to be the Head Coach of another Papuan team, Persemi Mimika, which also competed in League 3 Indonesia during 2017-2019, because of his ingenuity in training in 2019 Eduard Ivakdalam was immediately appointed as the Head Coach of the Papua National Sports Week football team with his former teammate at Persipura Gerald Pangkali as assistant coach of the XX National Sports Week (PON) football.

At the XX National Sports Week (PON), the Papua Team won the gold medal in men’s soccer at the XX National Sports Week (PON) due to the ingenuity of coach Eduard Ivakdalam’s strategy, the Papua Team won a landslide 2-0 victory over the Aceh Team in the final match held at Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, the two winning goals for the Papua Team were bought up by captain Ricky Ricardo Cawor in the 5th and 22nd minutes, Eduard Ivakdalam’s foster children have indeed played impressively since the group stage and continued their slick performance in the final match against Team Aceh and behind the success of the PON Papua team in winning the gold medal in men’s soccer sports PON XX 2021 there is the cold hand of the legend Eduard Ivakdalam.
