The education sector requires various supporting facilities in order to produce a quality education system that can reach more people. The Regional Government of South West Papua Province realizes how important the education aspect is that can support other aspects, so it provides economic assistance in the form of a grant of one billion rupiah. The grant was given directly by the Governor of South West Papua Province, Mohammad Musa’ad, to one of the private educational foundations in the province, namely the Christian Education Foundation. The importance of quality education that can improve the quality of life of the community has made the regional government provide a large budget to be used by educators through their educational programs.

The Christian Education Foundation oversees several schools in South West Papua Province. Therefore, the management of the foundation clearly needs a large amount of funds to be able to meet all the needs of the schools it supports. The use of the budget can be used to improve school facilities and infrastructure and provide decent salaries for educators. So that the quality of education will be guaranteed along with the increasing quality of facilities and infrastructure as well as the quality of educators and the quality of their students. The grant funds provided by the regional government will be allocated as operational funds to run the Christian Education Foundation in South West Papua.

The education provided by the Christian Education Foundation has reached 62 years since the foundation was first established in Papua. More than 80,000 students have become learners who have completed their education programs at schools under the auspices of the Christian Education Foundation. Such a track record makes the regional government of the South West Papua Province feel grateful for the services provided by the foundation’s managers so that they provide regular grant funds to advance education. The education budget has indeed been designed by the ministry in the central government and distributed through regional offices, but most of the budget is distributed to public schools, so that private schools managed by the foundation often lack the budget to run their operations. Education is a shared responsibility of the regional government. Therefore, the regional government of the South West Papua Province feels that it is necessary to budget grant funds to the Christian Education Foundation as a foundation that oversees private schools so that it can continue to provide the best education services. Moreover, the Christian Education Foundation has proven successful in managing grant funds provided by the regional government for years, so that it can indeed be held accountable for the management of these grant funds. The hope for the community is of course that the grant funds will continue to be provided in the coming years, which will certainly have a positive impact on the progress of education in the Province of South West Papua.
