NABIRE, The Central Papua Provincial Government inaugurated the Central Papua Province Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) in the Central Papua Governor’s office hall, Thursday, (19/12/2024).

At the event, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Central Papua, Jems Frets Boray said that with the presence of the regional financial access acceleration team (TPKAD) in Central Papua province, it could be an important milestone in efforts to encourage the acceleration of economic development and financial inclusion in the region.

“The role of TPKAD is very strategic, especially in presenting financial solutions that are inclusive, innovative and in accordance with the needs of the people of Central Papua,” Boray said.

In essence, financial inclusion aims to eliminate all barriers to financial access for the community. “So that they can utilize financial services at an affordable cost,” he said.

He said financial inclusion can also be defined as the availability of access to various financial institutions, products and services in accordance with the needs and abilities of the community in order to improve people’s welfare.

In addition, according to him, equitable financial access is one of the important keys in supporting regional economic development in central Papua, geographical challenges, infrastructure limitations and low financial literacy are homework that must be faced together.

“It is hoped that TPKAD can create synergy between local governments, OJK, the banking sector and various related parties to bring financial services that can be accessed by all levels of society, including remote areas,” he hoped.

Through this plenary meeting, he invited all TPKAD members to jointly develop a comprehensive and implementable strategic plan, the main focus of which is to ensure that TPKAD programs can run effectively such as the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), optimization of KUR (people’s business credit), and strengthening financial literacy and inclusion among people in central Papua.

With the inauguration of this TPKAD, it is hoped that concrete steps can be taken immediately to answer the existing challenges.

“I congratulate all members of TPKAD. Let us work with a spirit of collaboration, innovation and high commitment to encourage inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Central Papua,” he concluded.
