PAPUA – Yonif 512/QY Task Force which carries out Border Security tasks in the Republic of Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border area, precisely in Keerom Regency and Bintang Mountains Regency continues to show its commitment in supporting educational development, especially at the Elementary School level.
The concern of Yonif 512/QY Task Force for education is through Character Education activities initiated by the Territorial Staff of Yonif 512/QY Task Force led by Territorial Officer 2nd Lieutenant Inf Fajar Tri Purnomo, S.I.P., which has a noble goal to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between Yonif 512/QY Task Force and the local community.
One of the locations of these activities is at Senggi State Elementary School, Keerom Regency and in this activity, the Yonif 512/QY Task Force provides character education to students, so that they can grow into good individuals, have integrity and have a high spirit of Nationalism and not only in Senggi, this activity is also carried out in other areas within the reach of the Yonif 512/QY Task Force posts, including in Mount Bintang Regency.
Second Lieutenant Inf Fajar said that this program is part of the commitment of Yonif 512/QY Task Force in supporting education in border areas, “We strive to provide the best for the nation’s children, so that later they can grow into good, tough and nationalist characters. This is a form of contribution from Yonif 512/QY Task Force in building the next generation that has a strong character,” he said.
According to Second Lieutenant Inf Fajar, character education is very important, especially for children who live in border areas and where access to quality education is sometimes still limited, through this program Yonif 512/QY Task Force strives to provide motivation and guidance to students, so that they not only get academic knowledge, but also moral and ethical values that will shape their personality in the future.
The Principal of Senggi State Elementary School, Mr. Edi, S.Pd., expressed his deep gratitude to the Yonif 512/QY Task Force for their attention and concern for education in the border region, “We are very grateful to the Indonesian National Army men from the Yonif 512/QY Task Force for their presence and support and it seems that the children are very enthusiastic about learning with the Indonesian National Army men and we hope that this activity will be a great asset for children to be able to study harder and grow into individuals with character,” said Mr. Edi.
The enthusiasm of the students was also evident when participating in the activities held by the 512/QY Task Force and with a friendly and caring approach, the 512/QY Task Force was able to create a fun and educational learning atmosphere such as how discipline, responsibility, and love for the country are applied in everyday life.
Yonif 512/QY Task Force hopes to continue to establish good relations with the community in the border area, as well as make a positive contribution to the development of human resources, especially the younger generation and building national character from an early age in the border area is a strategic effort that is expected to have a long-term impact on the progress and welfare of the community in the future.
With this program, it is hoped that students in the border region can be more motivated to pursue their dreams, while having a high spirit of Nationalism. Yonif 512/QY Task Force is committed to continuing to support the education and character building of the younger generation in border areas, as part of its responsibility in maintaining state sovereignty and security.
