PAPUA DEVELOPMENT – PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has completed the Kwatisore-Muri highway reconstruction project faster than the specified contract. This 16.38 km long highway that connects Kwatisore Village to Muri Village, Nabire, Central Papua Province can now be used by the local community. The Company’s SVP Corporate Secretary, Ermy Puspa Yunita, said that this was the Company’s support for Presidential Regulation Number 24 of 2023 concerning the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Papuan Development for 2022-2041.
According to Ermy statement on wednesday 03/04/2023: “The company continues to support the equitable distribution of infrastructure development that has been planned by the government, especially for the development of eastern Indonesia, where there are still many isolated areas. “We hope that the construction of this road can increase connectivity between the Central Papua and West Papua regions.
In addition Ermy also said that ,It is very important for inter-regional connectivity to be improved and accelerated, especially for health, education, human mobilization and goods and services so that they run effectively and efficiently.
There are a lot of statements based on Ermy: “Even though construction is taking place in the middle of the forest where it is quite difficult to deliver materials, the project team can still ensure that the construction process continues on time,” he said.
Apart from that, Waskita also prioritizes quality and aesthetics and applies green construction for the sustainability of natural ecosystems during the reconstruction work process. The scope of work includes earth excavation work, basic pavement, road asphalting and precast crossing box structures.
Waskita used precast box innovation in the structure of the crossing channel. The use of precast boxes in the Nabire and Jayapura areas was the first to be used, where previously the crossing box structure in road construction in the area used the crossing box method. In road construction in the area used the box culvert method and there were also cuicker plates as the crossing channel structure.
“The box precast method is able to reduce the duration of the work up to 5 days faster than the box culvert method and Apart from that, in the early stages of development, Waskita used LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to speed up measuring the length of the terrace on this project, which is 16.38 km long so that work can be carried out immediately.”
The method above is included in BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology. Waskita always applies BIM in every project it undertakes. BIM is able to make work very efficient so that projects can be completed faster, more economically and of course with better quality. “It has been proven that the Kwatisore-Muri highway project can be completed faster than the target previously set,” concluded Ermy.
