Bank Indonesia in the South West Papua Province branch held a meeting with various stakeholders under the name of the Regional Economic Chat Forum. This event is a communication forum that brings together all stakeholders, starting from the regional government represented by the Bureau of Economics and Development Administration of South West Papua, banking parties from Bank Indonesia, investors in the economic sector, and of course the people of West Papua. The purpose of this communication forum is to share information and at the same time discuss the economic potential in South West Papua as well as evaluate various economic activities that have been carried out so far.
The economic growth that occurred in South West Papua Province reached its highest point and even became one of the provinces that had a positive increase in economic growth at the national level. The high rate of economic growth cannot be separated from the synergy that exists between various stakeholders. Banking parties provide several programs that can be accessed by the community to carry out community economic activities. In addition, the regional government of South West Papua Province also has programs and economic assistance such as providing financial assistance to be accessed by the community and used to run economic programs that have been agreed upon together. The community also carries out economic activities assisted by investors through companies such as mining which is one of the drivers of the community’s economy in South West Papua Province.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises are also one of the economic activities of the community that can increase economic growth. The existence of a communication forum initiated by Bank Indonesia has succeeded in opening a discussion regarding how economic activities from the highest level such as in the government and corporate investors including banks, to the economic level such as micro, small and medium enterprises in the community. The discussion discussed the plans of the regional government in the future so that it can continue to increase the economic growth rate in the Province of South West Papua. Stakeholders are expected to continue to support all regional government policies and also help with economic matters. The community as actors in economic activities is also given the opportunity to convey aspirations regarding how they need to be able to improve their welfare.
The hope of the existence of a communication forum related to economic activities in the Province of South West Papua is that the existing forum can be a place for discussion and formulating economic programs that involve stakeholders. The results of the discussions held in the communication forum are also expected to be the best answers and solutions to be able to continue to increase the economic growth rate in the Province of South West Papua. Synergy between stakeholders is one of the keys to the economic welfare of the community which must be implemented through various activities such as communication forums.
