JAYAPURA – Welcoming the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and the 79th Day of Service which falls on August 17 and 19, 2024, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua held a social service to the Peace Children’s Work Orphanage Foundation in Komba, Yobeh Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency.

The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua, Anthonius M Ayorbaba directly led this social service activity and was also present on the occasion:

  3. Head of RB and IT Public Relations Administration Subdivision Mulia Wari Sonny,

  5. Head of Jayapura Narcotics Correctional Institution Somaludin Bogra,
  6. Head of Jayapura Correctional Center Friyanti Sannang,
  7. Representatives of Structural Officials of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua,
  8. Representatives of the Technical Implementation Unit of Corrections and Immigration in Jayapura City,
  9. Staff of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua.

Head of Legal Affairs Ruben K Samai, who is also the chairman of the ecumenical Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua, in his report explained the aims and objectives of this social service as a form of concern for the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua for others in welcoming the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and the 79th Day of Service as a form of loving visits, especially to residents of the Peace Children’s Karya Orphanage Foundation which currently accommodates around 50 people, consisting of children,” said Ruben.

The Chairperson of the Karya Anak Perdamaian Orphanage, Mardiani Marbun on the occasion, expressed her gratitude with great emotion for the visit of the group from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua which visited the orphanage for the second time, “we are very grateful to the Head of the Regional Office and the ranks of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua and the Head of the Correctional Technical Implementation Unit, and Immigration who have provided this assistance. This assistance means a lot to us and will be very helpful in meeting our daily needs,” he said.

This social service activity is expected to strengthen the relationship between the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua and the community and provide tangible benefits for those in need, especially for us, the caretakers of the children of the orphanage of the work of children of peace.

The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua, Anthonius M Ayorbaba, in his remarks said that the social service activities that coincided with welcoming historical days for the Indonesian nation and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights were a momentum to revive a sense of caring for others.

This social service is a form of our concern for the ranks of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua towards others, especially to the Peace Children’s Karya Orphanage Foundation and we hope that this assistance can ease the economic burden on the foundation and provide happiness for the children who live here.” said Anthonius.

During the event, the Head of the Regional Office Anthonius M Ayorbaba accompanied by Structural Officials of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua and the Head of the Work Unit in Jayapura city both correctional and immigration also symbolically handed over social assistance in the form of basic necessities given symbolically, “this sharing activity is expected to strengthen the sense of togetherness between the ranks of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Papua and also be an inspiration for the community to care for others in Papua, especially in the city of Jayapura,” he said.
