Papua Mountains – Supporting the development of local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the development of the community’s economy, the Provincial Government of Papua Mountains has collaborated with PT Papua Regional Development Bank. The signing of the cooperation took place at the official residence of the Governor of Papua Mountains.
Acting Governor of Papua Mountains, Velix Wanggai said, as a newly formed province, the government continues to consolidate development planning and support regional economic development, especially supporting the economy of the people in Papua Mountains.
“One of the things we want to do through this collaboration with Bank Papua is to encourage business movements at the lower levels that have potential. Both in the fields of socio-culture, creative economy, agriculture and others,” said Velix Wanggai after signing the cooperation with Bank Papua.
Velix said that Bank Papua is a government partner, so that the vision and mission of the Government of Papua Mountains will be fully supported by Bank Papua, especially after the signing of the memorandum of understanding.
“We believe that the various financing schemes available at Bank Papua will be in line with our vision and mission, one of which is to revive the MSME sector. Therefore, the Papua Mountains Provincial Government and Bank Papua signed a memorandum of understanding on accelerating the development of regional financial access, which we call Papeda Credit. For this reason, later we will jointly encourage MSMEs in Papua Mountains,” said Velix Wanggai.
He hopes that in addition to support from the financing side, Bank Papua can also provide assistance to local MSMEs in developing their businesses. “Of course we hope that there will continue to be assistance from Bank Papua and its network, be it coaching MSME groups or strengthening their capacity, including providing access to marketing,” hoped Velix.
On the same occasion, Bank Papua’s Business Director, Sadar Sebayang, said that his party would support by providing credit programs for people who want to start business activities.
“On this day, we and the government of Papua Mountains have agreed to improve the community’s economy by providing working capital so that their businesses can run and develop well,” he said. He also hopes that this program can provide good benefits to the community for the revival of the economy in Papua Mountains.
