PAPUA – In order to succeed the 2024 Regional Election which has entered the Campaign stage, the personnel of the Operation Mantap Praja Cartenz (OMPC) II 2024 Task Force in the South Papua Region held security for Face-to-Face / Other Forms Campaign activities carried out by the Governor and Deputy Governor Candidates of Prov. South Papua serial number 3 namely Mr. Romanus Mbaraka-Albertus Muyak and serial number 4 Mr. Apolo Safanpo-Paskalis Imadawa, Tuesday (01/10/24).
Kasatgas Ops Wil South Papua through Kasatgas Humas Kompol Nurjanah said that the purpose of implementing security from the police during political party campaigns involves several aspects, namely to ensure Public Security and Order.
“The police are tasked with maintaining security and order during the campaign so that it takes place peacefully and is not disturbed by actions that can disrupt order, said Kasatgas Humas.
The OMPC II 2024 Task Force ensures that the personnel involved show professionalism and high vigilance to ensure a safe and orderly event.
“Our task is only to secure and monitor the implementation of these campaign activities with the aim that the activities run safely, smoothly without any disturbance to the public security,” explained the Head of the Public Relations Task Force.
In addition, the purpose of security is also to overcome potential conflicts, with the presence of the police, potential conflicts between party supporters or groups can be minimized, in order to prevent escalation of violence.
“The importance of security in political campaigns is to ensure that the democratic process can run safely, smoothly, fairly and peacefully,” he concluded.
