Preparations for the Simultaneous Regional Head Elections in Indonesia have begun. All parties who have an interest in this election event are starting to develop their respective plans so that they can achieve the desired goals. Regional head candidates who will register themselves are also starting to learn about what is needed to be able to take part in the general election and be officially registered as one of the candidates to be elected. Coordination from organizers such as the General Election Commission also needs to be carried out. Therefore, to provide direction to regional head candidates who will take part in the general election, the Regional Government of Southwest Papua Province held a coordination meeting which was held to socialize the stages that regional head candidates need to go through in nominating themselves as the party who will chosen.
The coordination meeting will be held in July 2024 at the Rose Quartz Ballroom Rylich Panorama Hotel. This meeting was attended by invited guests initiated by the General Election Commission of Southwest Papua Province. As explained earlier, this coordination meeting provides information about the stages that regional head candidates need to go through in order to be officially registered in the Simultaneous Regional Head General Election in November. The regional head candidates in question include Governor candidates, Deputy Governor candidates, Regent candidates, Deputy Regent candidates, Mayor candidates and Deputy Mayor candidates.
The General Election Commission of Southwest Papua Province in a coordination meeting invited invited guests to study together. It is natural for the general election organizing body to say that, because this is the first time the Simultaneous Regional Head Election has been held in Southwest Papua Province. This means that in 2024 this will be the first time since the Southwest Papua Province was ratified as one of the New Autonomous Regions and will elect its respective regional heads at the provincial, district and city levels.
The hope resulting from the coordination meeting regarding the stages of nominating regional heads in Southwest Papua Province in the run-up to the Simultaneous Regional Head General Election is to provide as clear information as possible to anyone in the community with their respective backgrounds who wish to register to be elected as head. area. Clear and consistent stages will make it easier for all parties to carry out the general election which is often referred to as a democratic party. So that when the stages run smoothly, the general election will also run smoothly. Or when there are problems in the process leading up to the general election, the General Election Commission of Southwest Papua Province states that it is open to anyone who wants to complain about problems and is willing to find the best solution together. Moreover, considering that Southwest Papua is one of the provinces in Indonesia that has Special Autonomy, so any existing problems can be resolved by deliberation with the community, especially Indigenous Papuans who will be potential leaders in the future.
