JAYAPURA – As an effort to expand the digitization of payment systems in Papua, the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Papua conducted QRIS Explore Indonesia Papua activities around the City and Regency of Jayapura by involving millennials.
This activity is an unconventional flagship campaign carried out nationally by all Bank Indonesia Representative Offices for 15 days, QRIS Explore Indonesia was welcomed enthusiastically by the community in the exploration area in Jayapura. The Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia Papua Province, Faturachman, opened a series of QRIS Explore Indonesia activities in the Papua region at Mayo Resort, Hamadi Beach, Jayapura City.

- Social media activists,
- General public.
QRIS Explore Indonesia Papua has several missions related to QRIS, Love Proudly Understand Rupiah, and Consumer Protection in tourism destinations and trade centers around Jayapura and this activity was attended by a total of 19 participants consisting of 7 teams who were very enthusiastic in participating in the competition.
The first QRIS Explore Indonesia Papua activity was held at Hamadi Tourism Beach, Jayapura City which consisted of 3 missions with the theme QRIS or Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard.
- The first mission was called QRIS Merchant Acquisition which succeeded in acquiring a total of 35 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises merchants around Hamadi Beach.
- The second mission is Guess the Item The Kaks mission is that participants must guess items from the fun games provided and buy these items by transacting using QRIS.
- The third mission at this venue is Donation Easy, Definitely Convenient Using QRIS, which is inviting tourists and visitors around Hamadi Tourism Beach to make donations with QRIS to houses of worship and conservation communities that managed to get 120 QRIS transactions.
The second activity was carried out at the Sentani Old Market, Jayapura Regency with a mission entitled The Thrill of Exchanging Money Today. This mission aims to invite traders and the community around the Sentani Old Market to exchange their Unfair Money to the QRIS Explore Indonesia participant team which will be deposited in the mobile cash car owned by Bank Indonesia of Papua. In the Exciting Money Exchange Today mission which lasted for 1 hour, there were 1,082 bills of Unworthy Money that were successfully exchanged by QRIS Explore Indonesia participants.
The third activity in the series of QRIS Explore Indonesia activities in the Papua region is Let’s Expand Consumer Protection Education which focuses on educating the visitor community in the Bukit Tungku Wiri tourism area, Jayapura Regency or better known as Teletubbies Hill. In this mission, there were a total of 70 tourists who were successfully educated by all participants of the QRIS Explore Indonesia activity.
QRIS Explore Indonesia is expected to continue to increase public understanding of the use of QRIS, CBP, and consumer protection, this certainly supports the expansion of the ecosystem in the digital economy in Papua which will ultimately encourage economic growth and inclusiveness.
