Papua Coffee Festival 2024 Completed, Sales of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Reach 1 Billion Rupiahs

JAYAPURA, PAPUA – The 2024 Papua Coffee Festival at the former PTC Entrop Terminal, Jayapura City, Papua Province, officially closed on Sunday (18/8/2024) evening. Total sales of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises until the fourth day reached Rp 1,030,460,000.

Head of the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Papua, Faturachman said in his report, the sales achievement of more than Rp. 1 billion included a total of Rp. 721,322,000 Standard Indonesian QR Code transactions with a Standard Indonesian QR Code volume of 10,776 visitors.

Faturachman also mentioned the achievements of the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival themed “Gemilang Emas Hijau Papua yang Mendunia,” from August 14-18, 2024 in the form of total export sales to Japan of 600 kilograms or worth 90 million rupiah and while until the fourth day there were 31,210 visitors.

According to Faturachman, these achievements have successfully encouraged:

  2. Brand digitalization,
  3. Market access,
  4. Competence of coffee human resources to make Papuan coffee global.

Assistant II Regional Secretary of Papua Province, Economic and Development Affairs, Setyo Wahyudi said that the success in organizing the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival this time was evident from the large public interest and the achievement of a very high transaction value, which would significantly encourage the rotation of the Papua Regional Economy, as well as the acceleration of the coffee industry to encourage new sources of economic growth in Papua.

Setyo said the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival series was also a form of support for the development of the capabilities of Papuan Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, especially Papuan coffee Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises which are increasingly showing their quality existence, “we hope that the knowledge of Papuan coffee activists will grow and be able to show high competitiveness on the national and international stages in the future,” Setyo said.

The peak of the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival was enlivened by the performances of Mukarakat and Mario G. Klau and the release of fireworks.

One of the visitors to the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival Yuni (22 years old) said that she visited the 2024 Papua Coffee Festival because she wanted to enjoy the coffee and culinary offerings of local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and besides that, the reason she came to the festival was also to watch the capital artist Mario G. Klau.
