Nabire – The Central Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) officially provided a grant worth IDR 10 billion for Korem 173 / PVB. The grant is planned to be earmarked for the construction of housing for TNI soldiers in Nabire Regency.

The signing of the Regional Grant Agreement Script (NPHD) between the Central Papua Provincial Government and Korem 173 / PVB was led directly by Pj Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk with Danrem 173 / PVB Brigadier General Frits Wilem Rizart Pelamonia at the local government office hall, Nabire, Central Papua.

“The signing of this NPHD is the commitment of the Central Papua Province government in organizing public services as a whole, including supporting the implementation of services to the community carried out by Korem 173/PVB,” said Ribka Haluk in her speech.

Ribka Haluk emphasized that realizing complete development in Central Papua in a short time cannot be done alone. So it is expected that the support and active participation of the entire community and related stakeholders.

Ribka also assessed that without a safe and conducive region, the Government cannot carry out development. She hopes that coordination between the local government and TNI-Polri can continue to be well established.

“The funds provided are actually not as big as the struggle given by the TNI-Polri in realizing a sense of security and peace in the midst of society. But this is part of the government’s contribution to support the TNI,” she explained.

“The development program currently being accelerated by the government can run if this area is safe and conducive. Hopefully with this assistance, it can help the soldiers of Korem 173 / PVB who are currently moving their headquarters from Biak to Nabire,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Danrem 173/PVB Brigadier General Frits Wilem Rizart Pelamonia expressed his gratitude to the Pj Governor for his attention to his soldiers.

“I represent all Korem soldiers, giving respect and gratitude to the Pj Governor. This grant is very important for the soldiers. We will use it to build soldiers’ housing,” he said.

He considered that Ribka Haluk did not hesitate to go directly to solve the problems faced by her community.

“I have served in Mimika, Jayapura and Merauke. But this is the first time I have seen a leader in the Land of Papua who always thinks about the security conditions of his community. I pray that the one who leads this area in the future will not be far from the type of Mrs. Pj Governor,” he concluded.
