The Regional Government of Southwest Papua Province held a coordination meeting in March 2024. The coordination meeting led by the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua Province, Muhammad Musa’ad, discussed the technical aspects of development planning. So the meeting was named the Technical Meeting for Development Planning for Southwest Papua. There were opinions that emerged from the meeting participants regarding what needed to be built in Southwest Papua Province. The meeting process went smoothly so that the time needed was only two days and resulted in the conclusion that the development to be carried out in Southwest Papua Province has four priority scales that must be built in their entirety. The four priority scales for development in Southwest Papua Province are Healthy Papua, Smart Papua, Productive Papua, and also protection regarding various aspects of society, especially Politics, Law, and Human Rights. The first priority for development in Southwest Papua Province is Healthy Papua. The development needed of course includes development in the field of infrastructure related to health facilities and of course human resources, namely the existence of health workers who are able to provide all their abilities to improve health in Southwest Papua Province. The health facilities that are planned to be built are hospitals and also clinics or community health centers that are built throughout the Southwest Papua area. So that when there are people who need health services, they will easily reach the existing facilities.

The second development priority in the Province of Southwest Papua is Smart Papua. The development needed of course includes development in the field of infrastructure related to educational facilities and of course human resources, namely the existence of educational personnel who are able to provide all their abilities to provide education in the Province of Southwest Papua. The educational facilities that are planned to be built are schools, both formal and non-formal. Formal schools are schools starting from Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, High School or Vocational School, and there will also be education related to the importance of Higher Education. While for non-formal schools, there is an example of a nature school that teaches people in Southwest Papua to continue to protect the nature they have.

The third development priority in the Province of Southwest Papua is Productive Papua. The development needed of course includes development in the field of infrastructure related to facilities that support economic activities in the community. An example of the development is the construction of a traditional market that has complete facilities as well as a storage warehouse that is indeed needed by the community to store agricultural products or other merchandise. In addition, providing training related to productivity such as creative marketing training that is able to sell cultural products in Southwest Papua while promoting the natural and cultural wealth they have.

The fourth development priority in Southwest Papua Province is protection regarding various aspects of society, especially Politics, Law, and Human Rights. This is related to the implementation of Special Autonomy in Southwest Papua which requires respect for customary rights and provides opportunities that can support the welfare of Indigenous Papuans in their involvement in the development process.
