One of the State-Owned Enterprises, namely the National Electricity Company or better known as PLN, is holding a series of sports festival events and also holding competitions as well as art performances in order to celebrate National Electricity Day 2024. Various series of sports and arts will be competed from the beginning of October to the peak of the event on October 27. For two weeks, all employees who work at PLN will compete to win prizes with the main goal of establishing familiarity between fellow employees who are in all offices located throughout Papua. There are eight PLN units throughout Papua including holdings, sub-holdings, and also involving subsidiaries of PLN.
The sports that are competed in the sports festival to commemorate National Electricity Day include volleyball, mini soccer, dominoes, table tennis, billiards, tennis, and badminton. While the arts that are competed are singing or karaoke competitions. All competitions, both sports and arts, are packaged as fun events. So even though it has a competition title, what is prioritized is togetherness and collaboration between employees from each different PLN unit. Of course, it is in accordance with the tagline raised in the commemoration of National Electricity Day in 2024, namely “New Energy for Advanced Indonesia”. The enthusiasm in each participant will be a new energy to be able to advance PLN in order to provide the best service regarding electricity to the community throughout the Republic of Indonesia.
Collaboration is the most important thing in group activities including in the sports festival initiated by PLN in order to commemorate National Electricity Day 2024. The spirit of collaboration is what is being pursued by PLN’s top brass to be able to raise the spirit of collaboration from employees with various stakeholders. As the only electricity company in Indonesia, PLN has a great responsibility that must be carried out together. Therefore, collaboration is the most important value pursued by PLN to be able to meet electricity needs throughout Indonesia and build collaboration between PLN and the community.
The hope of making the sports festival event by PLN is as an annual routine event and can continue to develop for the better. It is not impossible that in 2025, National Electricity Day can be celebrated by involving the local community in this case, namely the Papuan community. The spirit of collaboration that was initiated can be applied from fun things, namely together to exercise and also art. The hope of the community is that there will be a collaboration in any field including sports such as from PLN providing sports facilities that can be used by the community in Papua or being involved in producing talented athletes in the coming years.
