Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia LaNyalla Appreciates Southwest Papua Accelerating Education and Sports Human Resources

SORONG, WEST PAPUA – Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti laid the first stone of the Papua Bangkit Vocational High School and the establishment of the Dutch Football School in Sorong, Southwest Papua.

The activity carried out precisely at Mooipark Field, Saoka, West Sorong District, Sorong City, Southwest Papua, is a form of concern for the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia towards Papua Island, “I am here because I really love Papua and I believe this school can make a concrete and real contribution to giving birth to superior Human Resources in the world of education and sports in our beloved land of Papua and at the same time become part of Southwest Papua’s support in welcoming the Golden Indonesia 2045,” said the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia.

The senator from East Java was also moved to be present at the event and he considered the groundbreaking a very historic thing, the reason was because he was present in order to support a concrete effort to improve targeted Human Resources, “One example of this Papua Bangkit Vocational High School where there are fields of expertise in energy and mining, that means, this Vocational High School can be the answer to the comparative advantages of Papua, especially Southwest Papua in optimizing local Human Resources to engage in productive economic activities in the mining sector,” LaNyalla said.

The former Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association added that the development of Human Resources is also certain to be present from the world of sports that will be produced by this Dutch Foot Ball School, because football in Papua is like a second religion and because it is so strong D.N.A.. football in the blood of indigenous Papuans, the proof is that Papuan football players have never been absent from adorning the Indonesian National Football Team at various age levels, “I as a former Chairman of the National Team Agency of the Indonesian Football Association and former Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association, have more respect for players from the Land of Papua, than foreign football players contracted by clubs in Indonesia, because our pride must remain with the nation’s children who were born and raised in their homeland, because for me the countries out there that have football achievements, should be enough inspiration for us to learn, “he said LaNyalla.

LaNyalla is very optimistic that in the future there will be more black pearls born from Papua, following the names that have adorned the history of the Indonesian National Football Team, such as:

  1. Boaz Solossa,
  2. Ortizan Solossa,

  7. Yanto Basna,
  8. Ricky Kambuaya.

“All are black pearls born from Papua, even Boaz and Ortizan are native sons of Sorong, Papuan players are all legendary,” LaNyalla said.

Principal of Papua Bangkit Vocational High School Petrus Lelmalaya, added that he was very moved by the groundbreaking ceremony, because he hoped that the presence of the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia could spark the Central Government to pay attention to the region, especially Sorong, “This school is very suitable to stand here, it is very appropriate, because 70% in this area is where children drop out of school, I want the presence of the chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia to convey the cries of Papuan children who want to study. We not only need educational facilities, but also need school bus transportation, because to go to school we have to walk for miles, but with the existence of this Vocational High School it will be the right means for Papuan children to feel the joy of a region blessed by God with natural wealth, Papuan children should not only be unemployed, they must feel the joy of God’s gifts,” he said.
