PAPUA – Asmat Regency became the overall champion of the badminton championship of the South Papua Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in Papua at GOR Futsal Head Say Merauke, Sunday (9/29/2024).
It is known that the South Papua Porprov badminton championship took place from September 24 to 30 followed by each representative, namely Mappi Regency, Asmat, Merauke, Boven Digoel, Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City. PB Raja Sport Asmat won the overall champion in 2024 with the acquisition of 7 Gold medals 7, Silver 3, Bronze 10.
While the Badminton Association (PB), which also won medals, including PB Arafura, Divasa, MBC, IBIK, Cenderawasih, Mandala, HBC, Ruster, PB Max, Qhokotiuri, Jayawijaya, PB Tangkas, GBA, Mandiri, MBA, PB Education, Cbc, Jayakusuma, PB Zega, PB Apelisa and BVD.
Vice Chairman III of KONI South Papua Jefri Papare when closing the activity said, with two provincial championships held in Badminton Sports Cabag (Sports), he hopes that next year there will be another similar championship.
Meanwhile, the general chairman of PBSI Pengprov South Papua Halasson Frans Sinurat said, thank God for being able to complete the South Papua Se-Papua Kejurprov.
He hopes that later there will be children who can continue their achievements to the National Championship (Kejurnas) in November 2024.
“We are grateful that approximately nearly four hundred and five participants from the early childhood, cadet, adult and veteran groups can complete the championship well,” he said.
