SOUTH PAPUA – Head of the Department of Youth, Sports, Tourism and Creative Economy (DISPOPAREKRAF) of South Papua Province, Soleman Jambormias hopes that the selection of the Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPLP) can give birth to athletes “We are grateful to God because the program activities carried out by DISPOPAREKRAF South Papua Province are PPLP entry selection and we start with PPLP activities specifically for football. Today you also have to be grateful that those who come to this selection are former national players and former great persipura players,” said the Head of the South Papua Youth, Sports, Tourism and Creative Economy Service, Soleman Jambormias when opening the PPLP selection at the 1707 Merauke Kodim Field, Thursday (07/18/2024).
Until now, he is still a coach and his name continues to shine, this selection aims to produce children who can enter PPLP South Papua and later can replace Eduard Ivakdalam, Ortizan Solossa and Yance Sayuri who are now brought in to conduct selection, “maybe not at Persipura but we can develop Persimer or what team in South Papua, so that our stadium can be used properly, then there are championships conducted by PPLP throughout Indonesia, South Papua can participate,” he said.
As the head of the agency, he hopes that this selection will be followed properly, if selected, be grateful, if not selected, you must also be grateful, so you must be grateful for everything, “but, we hope that from this selection there will be players who really enter PPLP well. For this year, maybe we have not entered the shelter, but we plan, January 2025 has started by contracting a coach so that every day it can be carried out, this is my hope for all of you who participated in the selection today,” he said.
Soleman also hopes that the participants will follow the selection well, follow the directions well, later the results delivered by Eduard Ivakdalam and the team will be accepted and implemented properly, “Eduard’s brother was born and raised in Merauke, played at Merauke Putra, played at Persipura, played in the national team and other teams. So, we bring you back because we love Merauke, select you and build you. Our hope is that today can go well,” he said.
Soleman thanked the teachers who were pleased to accompany the children, hopefully the selected children will be guided to become good players and but also professionals.
He hopes that when he gets the expected players, the PPLP team will be formed because so far it has produced many great national players. In addition to today’s selection, there will be training runs.
In January 2025, according to him, his party will contract a place to live for the PPLP team to start entering and next year, two sports (sports) will be opened, namely soccer and athletics, “this is our main target, so that from here it will give birth to athletes for the student sports week according to the expected age. So, we start from now and in the future they are the ones who give birth to the expected players such as Eduard Ivakdalam’s replacement who today is presented with Ortisan Salosa and Yance Sayuri, “he said.
