JAYAPURA, PAPUA – Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua, Mathius Derek Fakhiri and Aryoko Rumaropen received full support from leaders and associations in Keerom Regency, Sentani Regency, and Jayapura City, Papua.
Chairman of the Central Mountains Family Association of Keerom Regency, Simon Kossay stated that Papua, especially the Central Mountains who inhabit Keerom Regency, was happy with the advancement of Mathius Fakhiri in the 2024 Papua Regional Head Election, because it was a blessing and gift from God, “We 13 tribes in Keerom are very supportive and ready to win Pak Fakhiri in the Papua Regional Head Election, we will always be behind him, whatever happens we are ready to always be behind him to fully support,” Kossay said in Keerom.
Kossay assessed that Mathius Fakhiri was a child born in Wamena, because he had attended school in Wamena, so with commitment and enthusiasm we agreed that he would run for governor in Papua, “we have been waiting for a leader like Mr. Fakhiri and it turns out that God has granted what we want and hopefully in the future he will become a leader for the welfare, honesty and justice of all Papuans,” he said.
Regarding Kossay’s firm support, his party has coordinated with Indigenous Papuans, the Association and leaders to provide recommendations for support to Mr. Fakhiri, “All candidates are good, but we have committed to supporting Mr. Mathius Fakhiri, because he is suitable and has proven to be a good leader so that our community can live in peace and harmony, where the economy, education, health and development are going well,” said Fakhiri.
While the Chairman of the Lapago Customary Area of Papua Province, Agus Rawa Kogoya, officially supported Mr. Mathius Fakhiri, “We are ready to support him to become Governor of Papua, we have no doubt, tomorrow Mathius Fakhiri will lead,” said Kogoya.
For this reason, he asked the Lapago people in Papua Province not to defect, but one voice to deliver Mr. Fakhiri to 01 Papua (Governor), “Let us jointly support Mr. Fakhiri, it is a fixed price, there are no other candidates, so people should not hesitate,” said Kogoya.
The same thing was expressed by the Second Deputy Chairperson of the Keerom Regency Javanese-Madura Harmony Association, Qomarudin, he said that so far his party knew Mathius Fakhiri was a very extraordinary leader, “He has a very high spirit of Nationalism and that means never looking at ethnicity, religion, race and others, he considers all the same or one unit within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” said the man who is familiarly called Qomar.
According to Qomar, the Keerom Javanese-Madura Harmony Association considers him a great leader, because to maintain security in Papua he always stands in front to face and solve problems that occur, “He never hides when there is a problem, but always stands in front, a leader like this is what the community needs and the Javanese-Madura Harmony Association is unanimous and committed to supporting him in the Papua elections,” he said.
While the Chairman of the Keerom Regency Pasundan Society, Iwan Setiawan said Mathius Fakhiri was a leader who was eagerly awaited by the community to advance the land of Papua, “He is a figure who can enter all figures in Papua because he himself is a native Papuan,” said Iwan Setiawan.
By looking at Fakhiri’s actions he is the right leader to lead Papua in the future, “Especially in Keerom he is very supported. So as a community organization in Keerom we fully support him to advance as governor of Papua,” said Iwan Setiawan.
For support, said Iwan, his party has communicated with all associations and leaders to succeed the Regional Head Election as well as support Mathius Fakhiri to become Governor of Papua 2024-2029, “We in Keerom perpendicularly support Mr. Fakhiri in the election, if presented 100 percent absolutely for Mr. Mathius Fakhiri, because we believe he is the right leader,” he said.
