Merauke – Ahead of the law enforcement debate competition in Jakarta, South Papua Bawaslu provides socialization to universities, especially the Faculty of Law and universities that have majors in Social and Political Sciences.
The Chairman of Bawaslu South Papua Province Marman, S.Sos., M.Si Opened the Socialization of the Inter-College Election Law Enforcement Debate Competition IV in 2024 at the Swiss Belhotel Merauke Ballroom.
The Chairperson of Bawaslu South Papua Province conveyed the socialization of the election law enforcement debate competition between universities in order to present the continuation of the success of the previous debate competition, as well as an effective means of socialization. So Bawaslu will again carry out the fourth election law enforcement debate in 2024 at the national level which will take place in Jakarta from 19 to 24 October 2024.
Marman, S.Sos., M.Si explained that students, as an important element of society, have an important role to participate in gathering new ideas. This is because the role of students in history has been proven as agents of change who are able to make changes in social change in society.
The Chairperson of the South Papua Province Bawaslu emphasized that the Socialization activity was attended by 150 participants consisting of 40 students of the Musamus University law faculty in Merauke and 40 students of the Yaleka Maro Merauke College of Social and Political Sciences and 70 participants from various organizations. “We want through this activity students in the province of South Papua to be critical so that they are able to become good social control for the creation of clean and fair elections, said Marman on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Swiss Belhotel Merauke”.
Before the debate, there will be a preliminary round from each university that has registered as a debate participant and sent scientific papers of at most 5 to 7 sheets to the Jakarta Team. Furthermore, if it meets the requirements according to the assessment of the jury team, it will proceed to the next stage, with all costs borne by Bawaslu RI.
Marman, S.Sos added that the Election Law Enforcement Debate Competition between Universities in Indonesia IV Year 2024 with the theme “Simultaneous Elections in 2024” aims to carry out the socialization of Bawaslu’s role in organizing the Elections of Governors, Regents and Mayors, then increase student understanding of elections and election law enforcement and encourage the creation of discourse on elections.
Marman, S.Sos hopes that the Socialization of the Election Law Enforcement Debate Competition between universities throughout Indonesia IV Year 2024 will give birth to students who are able to compete at the national level to make the province of South Papua proud for the success of dignified election law enforcement.
