Preparation for Vice President’s Working Visit, Wamanggu Market Cleared

PAPUA – Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka is planned to conduct a working visit to Merauke Regency on January 15-16, 2025. Vice President Gibran is planned to carry out several activities in Merauke, one of which is reviewing the Wamanggu Market.

In preparing for the Vice President’s visit, the Merauke Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs Office (Disperindagkop), which oversees the management of the Wamanggu market, cleaned the market.

“To prepare for the Vice President’s visit, we are cleaning the market,” said Head of Trade of Merauke Disperindagkop, Haidi Sivana, this media, Monday (13/1/2025).

Starting from inside the market to around the Wamanggu market, it was not spared from cleaning by involving various agencies in Merauke district.

“Today until tomorrow we are cleaning up, revamping the market so that it is adjusted to its designation, so we clean the dirty things, involving Disperindagkop, TNI, Satpol PP, DLH, PU and BPBD,” he explained.

Furthermore, Haidi also revealed that traders who were outside the market would be temporarily placed inside the market to fill empty trader lots. “Later, in order to facilitate the access of people, those from outside will be told to enter,” he concluded.
