Papua Mountains National Creative Economy Movement Officially Established

Papua Mountains – The 32nd Baliem Valley Festival, this year recorded a new history as the Top 10 KEN (National Event Charisma). This activity was also the first time attended directly by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Sandiaga Uno.

Sandiaga Uno’s presence in Jayawijaya, Wamena also inaugurated the Regional Executive Board of the Creative Economy Movement of the Papua Mountains Province.

“The DPW GEKRAFS (National Creative Economy Movement) administrators so that in 2024 the GEKRAFS Branch Management Board will be formed immediately in 8 districts of the Papua Mountains Province and form GEKRAFS Campus in all universities so that the creative economy will develop further,” Sandiaga said.

The Papua Mountains Province Creative Economy Movement is a national organization that accommodates 17 creative economy subsectors that Sandiaga founded and is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Yoyo Iwik Sriyoto was appointed as Chairman of the DPW of Papua Mountains Province. The board of management, 90 percent of which are talented regional sons and daughters or valley children who have skills and passions according to their respective fields.

Sandiaga Uno was accompanied by Governor Velix V Wanggai, Jayawijaya Regent Tony Mayor, Provincial Secretary Wasuok D Siep, Provincial Parekraf Head Marthen Medlama, OPD officials from the province and Jayawijaya Regency, and all members of GEKRAFS Papua Mountains Province.
