Economic equality is the responsibility of various stakeholders. The Regional Government of South West Papua Province is one of the parties that has a great responsibility to ensure that there is economic equality that is felt for the welfare of the community. One effort to ensure economic equality is to build a treasury system that is easily accessible to all levels of society. The commitment to economic equality is demonstrated by how the government can guarantee that various economic assistance reaches the community and the flow for its delivery and utilization can be accounted for through coherent reports. Distribution of village funds is one of the activities carried out by the regional government to support economic equality. Village communities need assistance in the form of village funds that can be accessed by the village government to be able to run village programs in order to support the welfare of the village community. Distribution of village funds is given through various stages that need to be studied carefully by the village government which is an extension of the regional government. The stages start from the preparation of the village budget needed and what the village funds will be used for, then how the implementation is actually in the community, and there needs to be a report on the use as a form of transparency on how village funds are used according to the budget plan.
The Regional Government of South West Papua Province collaborates with the banking sector, namely Bank Papua, in the process of distributing village funds. In 2024, the amount of village funds distributed to all villages in South West Papua Province is 172 billion rupiah. This amount is more than the previous year, namely in 2023 the amount of village funds distributed was 164 billion rupiah.
The distribution of village funds is expected to be right on target. The Regional Government of South West Papua Province distributes village funds with the hope that the welfare of the community, especially in the economic sector, can be fulfilled. The programs and activities designed by the village government with a carefully prepared budget are also the hope of all parties related to the distribution of village funds that are right on target.
The amount of village funds that has increased from the previous year is one form of the seriousness of the Regional Government of South West Papua Province to be able to realize economic equality at the smallest level of government, namely the village government. Rural communities want economic equality that can guarantee their welfare. Welfare is not only in the economic sector but in the future it is hoped that the welfare obtained from the village fund distribution program and economic equality will cover all areas of society, be it health, education, and also infrastructure development in the village. The hope for economic equality is something that is continuously pursued by various interested parties, be it the Regional Government of South West Papua Province or other parties such as banking and not forgetting the most important thing is the community itself.
