Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Provides Tools for McArthur Historic Site in Sentani, Jayapura

SENTANI, PAPUA – The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy or Tourism and Creative Economy Agency is aggressively promoting Indonesian tourist destinations and creative economy products. One of them is through seminars and working visits to Papua.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy through the Deputy for Marketing in collaboration with Sepuluh November University Jayapura held a seminar on tourism marketing communication and creative economy through social media on August 13, 2024.

This seminar aims to increase the understanding of tourism actors in Papua about the importance of utilizing social media as an effective promotional tool.

On August 14, 2024 the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, made a working visit to a number of Tourism Attractions in Jayapura Regency and City. This visit is to explore Papua’s tourism potential and provide direct support to tourism actors in the region, one of the results of this visit is the provision of assistance in the form of one unit of lawn mower to the manager of the McArthur historical site in Ifar Gunung, Jayapura Regency.

This historical site is one of the best tourist destinations in Papua managed by the Papua Provincial Government through the Culture and Tourism Office.

Head of Tourism of the Papua Provincial Culture and Tourism Office, Napar Yoman, expressed his high appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for the full support given in efforts to develop Papua tourism, “The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has played a very large role in promoting the natural beauty and cultural wealth of Papua through various social media platforms and the #DiIndonesiaAja campaign and besides that the cleaning equipment provided is also very useful in preserving historical sites in Papua,” said Napar Yoman.

Napar Yoman also emphasized that although he is not directly in charge of preserving the site, he is committed to optimizing existing resources to develop this historical site into a more attractive tourist destination in the future, “this assistance is given as a form of appreciation for the efforts to preserve the historical site and as support for the promotion of Papuan tourism through videos that have been contested nationally,” said Napar Yoman.

The cleaning equipment donation from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy was symbolically handed over at the Kota Raja Autonomous Office on Monday (19/8).
